NICK MARKART

Award-Winning Creative Director, Writer & Editor
Los Angeles, CA

Nick Markart is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker, creative director, and writer whose work spans independent film, commercial storytelling, branded entertainment, and digital media strategy.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, Markart began his career working across post-production, visual effects, and independent filmmaking before expanding into commercial creative direction and advertising.

His narrative and documentary work has been recognized by organizations and festivals including the Cannes Emerging Filmmaker Showcase, the Student BAFTA Awards shortlist, HollyShorts, and the North Dakota Human Rights Film Festival.

Markart directed Warriors: The Bernie Mac Disease, a documentary produced for the Foundation for Organ Donation and Sarcoidosis Awareness (FODASA), featuring Rhonda McCullough reflecting on the life and legacy of Bernie Mac. His earlier documentary Peacekeeper, centered on Standing Rock water protectors, received Best Narrative Student Film at the North Dakota Human Rights Film Festival and was later shortlisted for the Student BAFTA Awards. His sci-fi comedy short AV Club won Best VFX at the Kite Film Festival and screened at more than 10 comic conventions and genre events across the United States.

In television, Markart worked within the Warner Bros. Television production pipeline as a VFX Coordinator on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Alongside his film work, Markart has held creative leadership roles for brands including Coverland, BatteryEvo, and Komodo, leading campaigns focused on cinematic branding, social-first storytelling, and performance-driven advertising. His commercial work has included campaigns for brands including Bud Light and Thuma.

In 2026, Markart wrote and produced Guyver: Genesis, a fan-funded retelling of the classic anime and manga property Guyver, developed as a modern reinterpretation of the franchise’s original 1980s-era pilot concept. The production incorporated practical effects work and featured involvement from on-screen talent associated with the 1990s Guyver films.

That same year, he wrote and directed Jerry Seatman, a sitcom-inspired publicity stunt campaign featuring comedian and Power 106 personality Concrete.

Markart later created and directed Coverland’s vertical drama series My Wife’s Lover: The Secret CEO, a serialized mobile-first narrative released across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. The project surpassed one million views across social media and was featured in Los Angeles Magazine’s coverage of the growing role of vertical dramas and entertainment-driven storytelling within modern advertising.

As Creative Director for BatteryEvo and Komodo Ltd., I’ve led high-impact commercial campaigns that drove over 100% year-over-year revenue growth, earning millions of views and significantly enhancing brand visibility. I specialize in video production, team leadership, and ad optimization, creating innovative content for multimillion-dollar companies.

He also created, animated, and voiced the characters of Questicles, an absurdist adult animated web series that has over 500,000 views. His earliest roots in filmmaking emerged in Southwest Florida, creating early independent music videos for rapper Terry Presume.
